📝 Note: If you have selected only one of the objects to sync (example = leads), then you will be shown only 1 column for leads. You will not be shown the mapping column for contacts if you have not enabled contact sync.

- Sync Preference - Inflection gives you the flexibility to define sync preference for every standard and custom field that you wish to map. Below are the options that you see in the Sync preference dropdown.
- Two Way - Both Salesforce and Inflection will always use the most recent value available. (Default)
- Always Use Salesforce - Inflection will always be updated with the most recent value from Salesforce
- Prefer Salesforce Unless blank - Inflection will be updated with the most recent value from Salesforce, unless the Salesforce field is empty. In which case, Inflection will update Salesforce

📝 Note: The default sync preference for person object is “Bi-Directional” for all fields.

Adding a new custom field - In order to add and map a new custom Salesforce field in Inflection follow the below steps:
- Create the custom field in Inflection by clicking on “Edit” & “Add New Field”. Make sure that the field is of the same type as that of the Salesforce custom field. Mapping different field types could lead to sync errors.
